What to Include in an RF Connector Inquiry
A practical checklist for turning a connector request into a quotation that suppliers can review efficiently.Begin with the interface
Identify the connector family, gender, and mating interface. If the exact series is unknown, provide clear photographs of both sides, the mating component, and basic dimensions.
Define the installation
State whether the connector is cable-mounted, panel-mounted, bulkhead-mounted, PCB-mounted, straight, or right-angle. Include the mating cable type or panel thickness where relevant.
Describe the operating requirement
Provide frequency range, nominal impedance, environment, temperature, sealing, vibration, and mating-cycle expectations when these factors matter to the application.
Add commercial context
Include sample quantity, expected production quantity, target schedule, packaging, documentation, and destination country. These details help separate a quick catalogue match from a drawing review or custom-development project.
Before approval
Confirm the supplier drawing, critical specifications, sample plan, inspection evidence, lead time, and revision status before issuing a production order.
