Six Inputs Needed for a Useful RF Cable Assembly Quotation
The minimum information needed to define connector ends, cable, length, routing, testing, and quantity.1. Connector end A
Provide the connector series, gender, orientation, and mounting configuration. A part number or mating-interface photograph is useful when the exact description is unavailable.
2. Connector end B
State whether the second end uses the same interface or a different series. Mixed-interface assemblies should be described end by end.
3. Cable type
Provide the specified cable or the performance and flexibility requirement. Similar outside diameters do not guarantee equivalent attenuation, shielding, or temperature performance.
4. Finished length
Define the reference points used for measurement and the acceptable tolerance. Identify any routing, bend-radius, or space constraint.
5. Test and identification
State whether the assembly needs continuity checks, electrical test data, serialized labels, heat-shrink markers, phase matching, or a customer-specific report.
6. Quantity and schedule
Separate prototype quantity from expected production volume and provide the required delivery window. This supports a more useful sample and production quotation.
